Chrystalla Kamenou is an experienced art therapist. For the last 10 years she holds her private practice working individually and in groups with people who face issues of self confidence and self image, stress, interpersonal relationship difficulties, trauma, behavioural problems, mental health difficulties and a general need of self exploration in a creative manner. Furthermore, she is a clinical supervisor to other art therapists. Additionally, she cooperates with the Nea Eleousa Institution, which hosts people with special needs, and the Ministry of Education (OAP and DRASE) organising and delivering short-term workshops for elementary school children. In the past, she has worked with the Cyprus Mental Health Services’ drug rehabilitation programmes and with SPAVO which deals with people who seek refuge from domestic abuse. She has served as the president of the Cyprus Art Therapy Association- CArTA from 2015-2018 and is currently the vice-president of the organisation. She was awarded her Master’s (MSc) degree in Art Therapy from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2007 and her Bachelor (BA) in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2004.

Elina Souglidou has earned a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Plymouth in 2013 and later on, in 2015, she was awarded with a MA in Art Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire. While studying, she gained experience as an art therapist trainee, with children or adults who have learning disabilities, ASD and emotional/behavioural or mental health problems (stress and anger management, depression, phobias, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, psychosomatic problems and compulsive symptoms). She has attended a number of training courses including, «BAAT Assessment skills in Education», relaxation techniques «De-Stress with Qigong Therapy», «Nonviolent communication workshop» and safeguarding children «Safeguarding children training».
She voluntarily offered art therapy and art teaching in various social organizations such as the support program for people with special needs « Ίδρυμα Έλικας» in Nicosia, «The D.O.V.E. Project» and « Active for life» in Plymouth, and finally the «Cyprus Autistic Association». Currently Elina is working as a full time vocational enabler in Σ.Ε.Α.Ν.Α (Σύνδεσμος Ευημερίας Ατόμων με Νοητική Αναπηρία) and as a private art therapist.

Yiangos Panayiotou has a MA in Art Therapy from Haifa University in Israel and a BFA in Illustration from Columbus College of Art & Design in Columbus Ohio.
Yiangos works in an art therapy studio primarily with adolescents and young adults with special needs at ΜΕΛΙΣΣΕΣ (Center of Hospitality and Guidance for People with Intellectual Disabilities) in Nicosia. Yiangos worked at Materia Care & Rehabilitation Unit with people with Parkinson and Dementia offering Art Therapy sessions in the residence. Αpproach: phenomenological approach.

Pavlos Panagiotou

Pavlos Panagiotou is a holder of Master of Science (MSc) degree in Art Psychotherapy from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BA) degree from Nottingham Trent University. As an Art Therapy trainee he has worked at Greendykes Child and Family Centre and the Orchard Clinic (Medium Secure Psychiatric Clinic, NHS) in Edinburgh. Pavlos has attended a number of training courses in Cyprus including ‘Narrative Therapy’ and ‘Play Therapy’. He works as an Art Therapist at ORIZONTAS (Prevention, Development and Therapy Center) in Limassol and s a member of a multidisciplinary team, working primarily with children and adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.

 

Georgia Michael

Georgia Michail has a BA in Fine Arts from the De Montfort University in Leicester and MA in Art Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire. While studying, she gained experience as an art therapist trainee, delivering group work and individual therapy for children in reception, primary and secondary schools in London. Georgia holds a private practice and works individually and in groups with people who face problems with their self confidence and self image, stress, interpersonal relationship difficulties, trauma and a general need of self exploration in a creative manner. Some of the children are in foster care or are on child protection plans, often as a consequence of them having suffered some form of abuse or neglect. Children where loss and trauma have been prevalent throughout their lives. Many of the children are referred because their difficult behaviour has drawn the attention of teachers, foster-carers, parent or carer, and extended family members. This behaviour can have many different guises, from the child presenting as withdrawn and shut off to being aggressive towards others, or self-harming. Many of these children have never been given an opportunity to express themselves about their experiences. She has attended a number of training courses including: Supervision Training Course for Art Therapist (BAAT), Using the Arts to Increase Mentalisation in Working with Children and Families (NHS), Mindfulness for Wellbeing and Peak Performance (Monash University), Art Therapy with Group of Children (BAAT), Skills for Practice in Education Working Assessment Skills in Education (BAAT) ,Skills for Practice in Education Working Safeguarding in Art Therapy (BAAT).
